It's Christmas in August! Well, at least the part where I get stuff. My double jogger arrived Friday and I am so excited. It has a great rain cover too, something I've always wanted. I used to worry about the weather here, and getting stranded somewhere with the little guy... worries all gone!
Lots of walking, and we just finished parent-tot swim lessons, but running is not working so well, with the new baby expected in a few (hopefully short) weeks. I spend a lot of time daydreaming. These may be unrealistic goals for me, but I'm hoping to do the following.
18 Sept - Jog 1 mile
25 Sept - Jog 2 miles
2 Oct - Jog 3 miles
8 Oct - 5k event - http://www.mcdvcouncil.org/
Hopefully I'll do a little more preparation for the 5k, but I'll be thrilled if I can do that much with a little tiny baby around. :o)
My next goal is the 10k at next year's Zena Run in February. Great and inexpensive event I did this year. Pretty hilly course. Now, I don't want to just complete the 10k, but I hope I can complete a 12 week training plan beforehand, as well as a few weeks of the prescribed base weeks. I'll need to take a week or 2 off when our family travels in December, and plan accordingly.

And THEN, I need to work on my time and running two 5ks with a half hour break in between. I'm still promising my husband I will do the running legs of the HOTV duathlon on Memorial Day 2012 at an 8 minute/mile pace. He will do the biking.

Ok, that's all probably too ambitious for a nursing mommy, who refuses to be away from her babies for very long, but I sure like to dream about it. And who knows, maybe with my supportive family, I'll be able to pull it off. :o)
